Life Lately

Over a year and a half ago, I hit a turning point in my life. The funny thing is that I only realized this a few weeks ago, and since then, I’ve been reflecting on all the amazing changes that have happened.

A year and a half ago, within the span of 3 weeks, I started a new and much less stressful job with long-term stability, I got engaged to the love of my life despite the odds, and I started seeing a therapist. Those might not seem like a lot, but you’ll understand why as you learn more about me through this blog. But for now, I want to talk about that turning point, after which I started to truly be myself. I began to show my personality, become more expressive, be more vocal about my opinion. Most importantly, I started to feel confidant in who I was.

I only recently realized that since that time, I’ve allowed my crazy, funny, goofy side come out more often, letting my true personality shine, and let me tell ya, I’ve been LOVING it. It’s so liberating to not give a sh*t about what others think and to just allow yourself to BE who you are, without worrying about others. Don’t get me wrong, I still have insecurities and there are still moments where I feel like crawling under a blanket and hiding, but more often than not, I am comfortable with who I am and have become so much more confidant in my opinions and views.

And this is the real reason why I created Elle is for Love. I want everyone to feel that way. I want every person to feel happy and confidant, to feel like their voice matters and what they have to share with the world is as important as what anyone else has to say. I want YOU to feel empowered to take control over your life and accomplish the things you want and to reach your goals. I never in a million years thought I would be in this place. I am still in awe every single day at how my life has transformed, and I get excited at the prospect that it can get even better than this. And that’s what I want for you too – to feel excited, empowered, and inspired to make positive changes in your life so that you feel happy and confidant and proud of yourself.

One of my closest friends (a.k.a. my sister from another mister) reminded me yesterday that although I’ve been working hard on my blog, that I need to let my personality come through more, because (apparently) that’s what people love about me! I’m the person that loves to make everyone laugh, that wants to help and offer a listening ear or advice if needed. I’ve become a more positive person and I never thought that THAT person would ever be able to come out. But she has, and I love it, and I want to share it with the world. I’ve learned SO much in life and have come a long way and I want to share my experiences and knowledge with you, and at the same time, I want to learn from you because I want us to enrich each other’s lives for the better.

With that in mind, I thought I would do regular posts where I share with you what’s going on in my day-to-day life so that you can get to know me, and so you can see the person behind this computer, behind Elle is for Love, this person that is sharing her heart with you and who truly wants you to become the best version of you, the same way that I’m working to improve every day to become the best version of ME.

So here are a few snaps and comments on the last couple of weeks, uncensored and real. I hope you enjoy it!

{ I’m really lucky to have amazing co-workers that I get along with. Most of our days are filled with laughter. On this particular day, my supervisor thought it would be funny to put these ‘Trash’ stickers all over me. Thanks JD….. }

{ My hubby traveled a lot this month and although it was hard not having him around, I took advantage and had a small girl’s night at my place with my two sisters and we had such a fun time! We just sat around, ate good food, and had time to catch up }

{ In March, we were blessed with a CRAZY snowstorm. I took this picture only 2 minutes after being outside and I sent it to my hubby while he was in sunny Texas }

{ Twinning at work ! I’m so blessed to have made amazing friends at work, this girl being one of them. I don’t know what I would do without her! She’s the reason I look forward to go into work on Monday mornings. It’s so interesting that some friends feel like you’ve known them for YEARS }

{ Not the best picture but I still had to share it. This was the first year that I live with my husband and it’s important to both of us to celebrate and incorporate our different backgrounds and culture into our day-to-day lives. This is a Persian to set up this spread at the beginning of March until March 21st where we celebrate the New Year. It was really important for me to do this, especially since it’s our first year being married and it’s a tradition I want to keep in our home }

{ I had to include this because it’s just so darn cute – after a rough Monday, my friend (the one from the picture above) and I went to Aldo and treated ourselves to these new iPhone cases. And they are so accurate for us! }

Love thisss! When we truly embrace ourself and least care about what people have to say, there’s nothing that can stop us from being happy.
Tho I’m still working on this part but I’d love to hear more of your experiences. 😊

Thank you for the positive feedback! I thought it would be a fun way to get to know and share my day-to-day!

I’m still working on not letting peoples’ comments and negative feedback bring me down. I’ll try to write a blogpost about it to give more concrete tips because it’s all about how you interpret what someone says and how you use your reaction to it (as a motivation to improve something or as a realization that you don’t care about what they say haha)

One of the great things about reflecting on where you are is that it allows you to see how you got there, which, like in your case, can be related to something we didn’t realize at the time! And hopefully can replicate 😂😂😂😂
