After being in school for so many year, September will always be a month to reset my routine, my goals… my life! In the past couple of years, I’ve seen the benefits firsthand of setting clear goals, whether they seem achievable or not. It gives you direction, focus, and purpose. Without it, it’s easy to get caught up in the routine of life; work, chores, to-do lists and commitments. Making a conscious effort to set goals, whether they are short-term or long-term, has been an important part of my routine that I’ve grown to love. It has become a source of comfort and inspiration.
I have my goals for the year, broken down into categories. From this ‘master list’, every Sunday night, I sit down and set my goals for the week. This week, a few of the things that I will focus on are to learn how to make homemade makeup remover, research how to grow my blog, and to continue reading in bed every night, and meditate before bed. These are the little things that make life a little bit sweeter, and that get me through the rough days.
On another note, with the changing weather, it’s only normal to change your beauty routine and to reach for products and colors that seem more appropriate for the fall. Here are the best colors for the fall, and a few go-to products that can also be used in the summer. I like having versatile products because it can be used more often throughout the year rather than being limited to one season.
Although the tendency is that for the fall, the choice of colors become a lot deeper, I still reach for lighter but matte and neutral hues. What are some your go-to fall colors for the fall, whether in beauty or in fashion?

Thanks Rachel! Do you mean the Milani one? It’s one of my faves and really affordable! You should definitely check it out. The whole baked blush range from Milani is great, especially if you like that glowy look on your cheeks!
Very interesting to read about how you set your goals! It’s a great idea that I might start incorporating into my life too!

Thank you so much Alina!!
I love what you say about setting goals. I do it all the time although I’m not as mastered at it as you seem to be!
Also, it’s pretty typical but I always tend towards crimsons and berry hues in the fall, at least with nail polishes and lipsticks–it is just so appropriate for the season and the holidays!
Last thing, if you haven’t made your own makeup remover yet, I just came across this video today! Haven’t tried it but I definitely plan to:
(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = “//connect.facebook.net/en_US/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.3”; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);}(document, ‘script’, ‘facebook-jssdk’));

Thanks Tristan! Setting goals has definitely become part of my routine and I love it. It takes quite a bit of discipline but it really helps me stay focused and make sure that I am on track, even though I am not always able to cross everything out.
I’m open for more recommendations for crimson/berry lipstick or nail options! I don’t have enough I think haha
I just picked up Bite’s ‘Mulberry’ shade of lipstick after trying on half a dozen berry shades in Sephora! Also the Essie’s ‘Bahama Mama’ nail polish is my favorite for fall, I wear it year after year!
Ohhh I’ll add them to my list so that I can check the Bite lipstick next time I go to Sephora (danger zone!!)
I’ve heard a lot of girls loving Bahama Mama but I don’t have it in my collection!
Writing down your goals is such a great idea! It’s something I need to start doing
Love all the lipstick shades you’ll be wearing this fall! That mac lipstick is particularly lovely!
Mili
I would highly recommend writing down your goals because it becomes easier to visualize them and work towards them consistently!
The MAC lipstick is one my faves – highly recommended!
Woow so amazing that you set your week goals every Sunday! Wish I could do that!
